Polish Chamber of Tourism is the biggest organization founded by the tourism industry and operating all over the country. The Chamber’s activities cover wide range of issues essential for its members, i.e. over 500 tourist businesses with about 1000 offices spread throughout the country and representing ca. 70% of floating capital in tourism. The Chamber actively contributes in the promotion of Poland and products offered by its members.

The members of the Polish Chamber of Tourism are: tour operators, travel agencies, insurance companies, tourist colleges, known carriers, providers of accommodation, tourist and cultural attractions and tourist fair corporations.

The basic activity focus on fulfilling the statutory aims - representing the interest of its members, supporting development of the tourism industry in Poland, its competitiveness at foreign markets, access to the new technologies as well as establishing ethical principles for tourist businesses.

The Chamber’s structure is based on local representative offices situated in the main tourist regions: Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Katowice, Łódź, Olsztyn, Poznań, Gdańsk, Warszawa, Kraków, Szczecin, Opole and Wrocław.

Polish Chamber of Tourism represents its members in cooperation with many governmental institutions, linked with the tourism industry like the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Sports and Tourism , the Border Guards , the Polish Chamber of Commerce as well as different tourism organizations :Polish Tourism Organization, Polish Agency for Tourism Development, Tourism Institute, Tourism, Hotel and Gastronomic Organization Board, Board of Regional Chambers of Tourism (where PIT is a presiding member since 2006) and Regional Chambers of Tourism.

Polish Chamber of Tourism organizes study tours and workshops for its members, sponsors many promoting actions and fairs, regional and international, like e.g. International Tourism Fair TT Warsaw Tour & Travel, Tourist Fair SUMMER in Warsaw, Gdańsk Tourism Fair, International Tourism Fair in Poznań, TUR-GASTRO. For the last three years PIT supports also the promotion of the best tourism services suppliers recommending them for the prize of Crystal Globe for the best fair play tourist company in Poland as well as new tourist products and less known tourist attractions and regions in Poland by sponsoring a yearly contest “Weekend dla mieszczucha” (Weekend for the city dweller).

Since May 2004 Polish Chamber of Tourism has been the full member of The European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Association (ECTAA), but also has established cooperation with The United Federation of Travel Agent’s Associations (UFTAA), The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), German Association of Travel Agencies (DRV), IATA, SPATA and other associations – PIT’s counterparts in such countries like Spain, Russia, Tunisia, Macedonia, Albania and Portugal.
